The Need
Since there is no cure for HIV, those who are infected begin a long journey in which their lives and those of their family members are completely altered. Care and support are needed all along the way to address challenges at various stages. On this continuum, there is an ongoing need to serve, render compassion, and adsorb pain and dispense grace and love.
LifeRise Strategy
LifeRise AIDS Resources partners with grassroots churches and Christians who by their presence in their communities encounter those who suffer because of HIV close at hand and are poised to provide care. Local Christians are there when a man first receives a diagnosis of HIV and needs someone to counsel him. They are there when a woman becomes weak and sick with AIDS and needs home visitation. And, they are there to step in when a parent dies and leaves a child all alone.
LifeRise projects in palliative and orphan care are designed to help indigenous Christians gather neighborly good deeds into more structured programs to reach out to more people, give higher quality care, and scale up to achieve greater impact.
