Grants We Provide

LifeRise AIDS Resources strategy is to employ a system of tiered, progressive grants to provide funding to our indigenous partners. Our grants are for HIV/AIDS service delivery projects in the areas of prevention, treatment, and care. By service delivery, we mean the direct delivery of practical health and social services to beneficiaries. By projects, we mean an intentional and accountable plan to serve a certain number of beneficiaries over a specified period of time for a budgeted cost. We monitor all our grants programmatically, to make certain that our partners are meeting their objectives, and financially, to assure that our partners are good stewards of the resources we entrust to them.

By tiered, progressive grants, we mean that prospective partners undergo a screening process to apply for our entry-level grant of $5,000. Any partner receiving a grant becomes part of our network to receive medical and technical assistance (see Technical Support). As funds become available, selected partners in our network who perform well with an entry-level grant may be invited by LifeRise to apply for higher levels of grants.

LifeRise has very strict criteria for partners to receive an entry-level grant. These criteria become more demanding at higher levels of our tiered grants. Grants are for the period of one year and can be no more than 25% of an organization’s actual operating budget.

LifeRise AIDS Resources relationships with partners come through our evangelical networks. Although prospective partners are free to make a brief enquiry in regard to an entry-level grant, we do not guarantee a response and we do not accept unsolicited proposals.

Those partners who advance to the highest level LifeRise grant may be those whom we will consider including in special umbrella grants funded through large donors like the President’s Emergency Fund for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) or the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria as opportunities become available.
